Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi Wins Re-Election Bid
-Floridians Return Bondi to Office with 55% of the Vote-
(Tampa, Fla.) – Tonight, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi won handily over her Democratic and Libertarian opponents to be elected to serve a second year term as Florida’s Chief Legal Officer. As of 9:30 p.m. election night, General Bondi secured 55 percent of the vote with more than 5.6 million votes cast in the cabinet race. Democratic nominee George Sheldon spoke with General Bondi and congratulated her in her re-election bid.
In her remarks this evening, Attorney General Bondi spoke to her duties and responsibilities of her office, stating “when the federal government does things they’re not empowered to do, which threaten individual and states’ rights, I will not be silent - nor bullied.” Bondi continued, “over the next four years, I will remain committed to securing the safety and well-being of every Floridian.”
In closing, Bondi thanked her family, “I was inspired by my mom, who made education, and our family, her priority; and by dad who exemplified integrity and class in everything he did. Dad – this one’s for you,” a tribute to her father who passed away last.
Family, friends and supporters cheered the first woman-elected Attorney General Election at the TPepin Hospitality Centre in Tampa.
